In the second of Rune Fjeld’s fuel cars, Finn Jari Halinen had a frustrating weekend trying to get through vicious tireshake that would eventually hand victory to Bugeja in the first round of eliminations. However, the visitors from the north had such a blast over the weekend it’s highly likely that Fjeld and the rest of the crew will be back before too long with reinforcements.

Six time and reigning UEM Top Fuel Bike champion Ian King was also one of the invitees to put on a show with the Gulf Oil/Grand Prix Originals Puma Yamaha. After repeatedly catching spectators out in the pits during the warm-up procedure (the joy of watching those innocent in the ways of nitro leaping upwards and backwards on the hit of the throttle never ceases), King ended up demolishing the track bike ET record thanks to 6.27/191.80 and a 6.28/185 on early click-offs with close to PB short numbers (4.01/194.24mph at the eighth), the team not wanting to push things as the Hal-Far shutdown is a bit dusty and far from the longest.
