In round two Butner beat Helms again, this time putting him on the trailer with a 5.849 at 119.56 to Helms’ tire spinning 9.051/77.47. In the other pair Holbrook defeated Buckner with a 5.807 at 119.97 to Buckner’s tire spinning 15.518/27.31.

Holbrook earned lane choice in the final round but it wasn’t enough after something went wrong on his Mustang while leaving the starting line. Butner ran a 5.862/119.46 to Holbrook’s 8.575 at 85.35 to win the first-ever ADRL Super Car Showdown trophy saying, “This was a pretty cool deal and it’s always good to win.”

PRO JUNIOR DRAGSTER

Corey Tankersley ran the table in the Pro Junior Dragster class after qualifying number one with a 7.907, only seven-thousandths of a second below the index. He strung together three low-7.90 passes to make it to the final round where he faced off against number-nine qualifier, Justin Hutto.

Tankersley ran a 7.925 with a .068 reaction time to Hutto’s 8.001 with a .040 reaction time to claim his second ADRL Pro Junior Dragster victory.
