Lee Lightfoot's Top Dragster was running Jennifer White in Qualifying, kicked a couple of rods out and flamed it up pretty good.
Winners were crowned in nine racing classes at Royal Purple Raceway near Houston for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Texas Sportsman Challenge event.
Mike Trumble, Pasadena, Texas, left first and held on for the win over Charles Watson, Humble, Texas, in Comp Eliminator. Trumble’s '06 Cobalt E/SMA turned in an 8.338 at 162.61 to an 8.340/162.61 for Watson’s 2010 Cobalt D/SM.
