Big Dawgs at Carolina Dragway

Mike Hill’s Big Dawgs

After beating Ric Fleck in the Pro Mod Blown final, Todd Tutterow took his ‘68 Camaro to the overall winner’s circle Apr. 28, beating Pro Mod Nitrous winner Chris Rini (far lane) in the King of the Hill finale at Carolina Dragway. Tutterow ran 3.81 at 191.27 to beat Rini’s 3.89 at 189.15 pass and pocket the lion’s share of the $50,000 total purse.

Todd Tutterow, the 2009 ADRL Pro Extreme champion from Yadkinville, NC, brought his Roots-blown ’68 Camaro out for Mike Hill’s Big Dawg Outlaw Pro Mod event at Carolina Dragway. After sitting out the final Pro Mod Blown qualifying session, Tutterow started second and made it to the final round against 4th place qualifier Ric Fleck and his 2007 Corvette from Lexington, SC. It actually took two tries to get the final completed as Tutterow was mistakenly timed out by a glitch with the tree the first time around, while Fleck made an aborted pass. After waiting for Fleck’s car to once more cool down and get serviced, the pair finally settled the score with Tutterow leaving first with a stellar .018 light, though Fleck was only four thousandths behind off the line. Tutterow led the entire eighth mile, however, going 3.837 at 190.51, while Fleck finished with a 3.943 pass at 186.90 mph.
