NHRA Pro Mods at Houston - Rowe marches through Pro Mod field

The NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by ProCare Rx made their third stop of the season at Royal Purple Raceway just outside of Houston, Texas, and, as they always do, delivered a lively mix of firsts, fan entertainment, fast racing and a dash of drama.

Kenny Lang

Danny Rowe became the first supercharged car to win a race this season. He defeated Canadian Kenny Lang in the final round that was the first all supercharged final round of the season. Rowe’s Jimmy Rector-tuned Camaro got the win with a 5.969/244.43 lap that beat Lang’s engine wounding 6.043/238.51.

The NHRA allow the Pro Mod teams just 30-35 minutes between the end of the semifinals and the championship round while they give the rest of the professional racers at least an hour between rounds. That isn’t much time to service a car that is capable of 5.60/255 performances.
