In AA/FC action, defending DRO/Mickey Thompson Tire AA/FC Series champ and Dallas based racer ‘Pontiac’ John Hale drove his “Nitro Boss” Mustang to the Friday night Winner’s Circle, beating both Tucson Nitro Jam winner Mike Savage and defending Nitro Jam Champion Peter Gallen for the victory.

Hale made the Championship round based on his winning ET of  a solid 5.872/235.60 effort over the 5.992/220.16 first timer Mitch King put out driving Henry Guiterrez’s Brand X Mustang. Defending Champ and East Coast hitter Peter Gallen set Low ET and Top Speed of the night with a 5.731/240.64 in his first round win before falling in the final round to Hale and tuner Guy Tipton.

In the consolation rounds, Dale Pulde put a check in the win column in his return to driving the “War Eagle” with a win over Mike Savage, Texas racer Mitch King drove the “Brand X” Mustang to a win over Brad Thompson’s Nova, and Tim Boychuk, driving a car tuned by drag racing Hall of Fame tuner Roland Leong, made a solo pass in the “Troy Lee Designs” Pontiac.

Ron Maroney, in the “Blind Faith” Fuel Altered, drove to his third consecutive win Friday night. He took out Jason Richey in round one and then put down a solid 6.531/191.65 to defeat rookie Kyle Hough’s game 6.816/206.42 in the final.

Rounding out the pro rounds on Friday was Bill Evans’ big win in Pro Fuel Dragster, defeating Kristen Dennis in the money round to win his ninth career Ironman. Evans ran a 5.539/250.28 in the final to Dennis’ 6.024/208.53. In an all lady consolation pairing, Cherissa Smallwood defeated Robin Samsel.
