PRO EXTREME

The Pro Extreme field at St. Louis was stellar. Indiana’s Mick Snyder led qualifying with a 3.609/210.05 effort and multi-time ADRL Champ Jason Scruggs was right behind him with a 3.617/207.91.

In fact, 12 of the 16 qualifiers in the Pro Extreme class qualified in the 3.60+ range with Clint Thompson, who came all the way from Oregon, on the bump with a 3.773/198.52. Only two of the Pro Extreme qualifiers ran under the 200-mph mark.

Snyder ran the table at Gateway as he not only qualified on the pole for the second straight race, but set low ET and Top Speed of the meet and won his second consecutive ADRL event.

In a post race interview Snyder said, “To get two in a row is just crazy. You can’t script it any better. It was a great team effort and this class is so hard, just to get to two straight finals is tough. To get two straight wins is just unreal.”

Snyder was on his game all day as his ‘Vette ran steady 3.65 ET’s and he had a .013 and a .017 RT in the quarter and semi-finals.

Jason Scruggs was the runner-up but was unable to make the finals due to parts damage. He ran low ET of the third round with a 3.646 at just 198.12, which indicated he did hurt some parts on that pass.

Snyder finished as the No. 1 qualifier for the second straight race as well and then ran a pair of 3.64s, a 3.65 and the finals run of 3.63. He was set to run teammate Scruggs in the finals, but Scruggs was unable to start his car.
