Wayne Hoover’s C/Gas ’67 Nova out of Alta Loma, California took the win over Bakersfield’s Michael Williams in his classic ’55 Chevy. Hoover’s winning run down the quarter mile was clocked at 9.757 at 137.29 mph to Williams’ close but slower 9.778 at 139.73 mph.

Chris Kurtis from Bakersfield, California, in his ’68 Nova, defeated #1 qualifier Ed Carey of LaJolla, California in the final round of D/Gas class eliminations. Kurtis ran a 10.850 at 125.23 mph to Carey’s 10.831 at 124.88 mph pass.

The ’39 Chevy 4-door driven by Washington’s Paul Comeau carries the front wheels qualifying 3rd and went out in the third round of eliminations. This gold beauty runs consistently in the high 9s.

Local racer Kim Clover, of Henderson, Nevada, defeated Andy Pressimone, another local Las Vegas racer, in the Hot Rod class final. Pressimone’s ’76 Nova grabbed the red light on the starting line and Clover took the finish line stripe with an 11.168 at 122.29 mph.

‘Papa’ Dave Walker brought out his vintage chopped and channeled ‘30 Model A. Powered by a 350 cubic-inch Chevy, Walker’s 5-window coupe runs in the high 12.00 second zone in the Hot Rod Class.

Jason Dawson of northern Las Vegas posted an inhuman reaction time of just .001 and went on to win the Bracket 1 final over Keith Winters of Las Vegas, 7.965 at 165.50 mph to Winters’ 8.646 at 154.90 mph.
