In the final Coyle had lane choice and took the right lane putting Jones in the slicker left lane. At the flash of the yellows Jones dropped the hammer and had the best RT of Eliminations with an excellent .029 to Coyle’s respectable .055. Jones ran a 4.1888 to Coyle’s 4.1620 for a true win Margin of just eight-ten thousandths of a second.

Even though points leader Rogers lost in the first round, his closest competition, Monte Grace, also got only first round points. The championship is probably Eddie Rogers’ as long as he goes to the last race of the season and qualifies.
