Eliminations began with a tremendous upset. The series uses the NHRA Professional Qualifying ladder which means that the number one qualifier runs the number eight. It gets a little confusing at this point as several cars broke and alternates had to be substituted.

As it worked out, Rogers ended up being paired against alternate Belcher and in the upset of the race Belcher had her best ET (4.096) of the meet and her worst (.391) Reaction Time of the race, but it was a winner as Rogers, who had a .050 RT,  had traction issues and lost with a 4.759 effort.

Jones dropped a 3.987/185.03 on Scott Christopher to easily advance and Coyle’s 4.017/181.94 was enough to trailer Judd Coffman’s turbocharged Mustang, the only Ford-powered car in the field.

In the semis Belcher lost traction almost immediately and coasted to a losing 6.040 that Jones’s 4.201 easily covered. Once again Coyle set low ET of the round, low ET of the meet and a new track and Series ET record with a sterling 3.885/188.41 thrashing of Dan Stevenson in the other semi pairing.
