Derrick Sercy and Jason Tyson had reached the final in the Outlaw 275 class while Bob Kurgan of Braselton, Ga., and Barry Mitchell had done the same in X275. Ziff Hudson and Jason Smith split the winner and runner-up money in the King of the Street class and Matthew Lawrence of Richmond, Va., and John Phillips did the same in Real Street 275.

“I know everyone was disappointed that we couldn’t finish the race,” Earwood said, “but we had a situation with the chemicals used to fight the fire and we just didn’t feel like we could put the track in competitive condition in the short timeframe that we had. I want to thank all the racers for working with us on this issue. We love racing but only if we can do it safely.”
