“Andrew and I were lucky to take out the Hectors in the semis and that really helped us in the points,” Krawiec said. “I lost in Dallas due to rider error. I had a .066 light, which is unacceptable. This week I was good on the tree and had a good bike which is what it takes to win some rounds. Yes, I had three red-lights against me here but I did well and all my runs were good. I pushed it a little in the final but I know the potential of what he [Andrew] has. He crushed me in Charlotte.”

"Overall, we gained points, so it's a good weekend," Hector Arana Sr. said. "We're back to where I was. We've got to keep working hard and see what happens for the next race."

He beat Mike Berry and Shawn Gann before eventually falling to race winner Eddie Krawiec in the semis. Arana had dropped to fifth in Pro Stock Motorcycle points last week, but moved back into fourth with this finish.

Arana easily dispatched Berry in the first round, running a lap of 6.845 seconds at 195.73 mph against Berry's 6.959 at 191.32 mph.

The second round was another story altogether. Both Arana and Gann's bikes had trouble and came as close to having a pedalfest as the bike class gets.

"It was crazy," Arana said. "I left, and I went into second, and everything was looking good. I had him right there, but then the bike wouldn't shift. I hit the rev limiter so hard, but I kept trying. It wouldn't shift. So he went by, and I pulled in the clutch.

"But the race wasn't over. I saw him stop right there, so I dropped the clutch and I kept on going. I hit the shifter, and it shifted one more time, and that's all I needed."

Arana Sr. crossed the finish line in 7.758 seconds at 179.73 mph to Gann's 8.056 at 169.08 mph.

"It shows you sometimes that you need luck," Arana Sr. said.
