Street Car Super Nationals

Coughlin rises to the top

For the twelfth time in modern drag racing, the Pacific Street Car Association headed by forward-thinking president for life, Mel Roth, culminated its season with the big money Street Car Super Nationals and a packed pit area at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. At The Strip there is always room for more cars in their vast pit area, but according to unofficial count, by the end of Friday 408 competitors had already filled out tech cards. This makes the 2013 edition of the annual event the largest PCSA event in number of competitors on record!

To this writer, most of the expected combatants were there, along with a number of “newbies”, all of whom made for a crowded qualifying show during three days of preliminaries.
