John Stanley drove the Stanley & Weiss Camaro to a stellar 5.64/253+ to be the #1 qualifier in Outlaw Pro Mod! Of particular note, this was the first time the car had gone 1320 feet under power, according to the crew.   (Paul Schmitz photo)

The Outlaw Pro Mod class was won last year by turbocharger racer Troy Coughlin who beat low qualifier John Stanley in the finals. The Pro Mod class racers brought true Big Show professionalism to the Las Vegas event.

Native Ohioan Troy Coughlin won his second straight SCSN event and his third straight win in as a Pro Mod racer at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2012-2013. Troy also won the final NHRA Pro Mod event of 2013 with a victory at the NHRA Toyota Nationals in late October.  (Paul Schmitz photo)

Another big name Midwest racer, Bill Glidden, was top qualifier in Outlaw 10.5 after Friday’s two sessions. The second-generation racer ended up #4 with his powerful Mustang on Saturday. (PCSA photo)

Overall we must rate this PCSA event an ‘A’!  The staff handled everything well and, except for too many oil-downs, the Eliminations were exciting and close. We were duly impressed with the spectator turnout too, just proving that a quality show with good weather will bring ‘em out in Las Vegas.

On Thursday an announcement was made that a second Street Car Super Nationals will be added the schedule and held at Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis in mid-August 2014 so next year there will be two SCSN events.
