X-DRL at Tulsa

Brandon Pesz

X-DRL comes to life; Pesz gets first Pro X-treme win

Billy Glidden was a surprise entry in the Pro Nitrous division coming all the way from Whiteland, Indiana, with a car that normally runs in the Extreme 10.5 class.

The inaugural race of the inaugural season for the eighth-mile doorslammer X-DRL drag racing series is in the books and by any measure (with the exception of low car count in some of their feature classes) the race was a success, especially for a first effort.

There were some interesting facets to the race. Eric Dillard, driving for car owner Jose Gonzalez of the Dominican Republic, recorded the first sub-3.80 ET for turbocharged Pro Mods with a stellar 3.786/210.64 effort in eliminations on Sunday.

Also notable was that Tulsa track co-owner and Pro Mod team owner Todd Martin not only went to the semi-finals as a driver in the Pro X-treme class but Brandon Pesz drove Martin’s second car to the Pro X-treme title and gave the track operator/racer his first win as a team owner.
