Coughlin was more generous to NHRA and the Royal Purple Raceway track crew.

"The track was definitely green this morning but it's coming around, and my hat is off to the NHRA crew because they worked really hard on the surface. It just takes time when you get that much rain."

Coughlin lost to championship rival and current points leader Von Smith, who posted a 5.973-second pass at 244.12 mph, in front of Coughlin's resigned 6.587 at 167.59 mph.

Kenny Lang

In the anti-climatic final round Lang fouled at the start, giving the win to Satterfield, who posted a 6.015 second pass at 246.75 mph.

Al-Anabi racer Mike Castellana, driving his new 2012 Camaro using a Reher-Morrison engine and Speedtech Nitrous, was on the pole with a 5.880/244.56 clocking.

With the runner-up finish Lang moves up to the Series points lead from third and Satterfield catapults from 10th spot to replace Lang in the third spot.
