Edelbrock Super Quick competition saw Steve Faller go four rounds before being knocked out by Rodger Comstock while Gabe Torres caught the bye. In the final, a 7.39 on a 7.37 index was enough for Comstock to take the stripe over Torres.

In Burns Stainless Open Comp, drivers had to contend with a huge field of highly competitive cars. After surviving four rounds of competition, Mark Rapp and his wheel-standing ’70 Nova went out to last year’s season champ, Mike Nordahl. Dan Marciano knocked out the 9-second Honda of Anthony di Nallo who managed to survive four rounds in the domestic-dominated class. In the final, Marciano went 10.19 on a 10.17 index for the win against Greg Dreher and his ’81 Mustang.  (James Drew photo)

Calvert Quick Street was another stocked field that five rounds of competition before the finals. In the semis, Trevor Hayes took the stripe over Joe Furiani while Jeff Interlicchia went out at the hands of Bill Batey. In the final, Hayes laid down a 0.005 light that gave him the jump and the win over Batey.

In Bracket 1, Tom Drake got the jump on Jason Park who was asleep at the tree.

In Bracket 2, Randy Chen and his ’69 Chevelle claimed the winning spot.
