Bowen Gets Win in Front of Record Cedar Falls Crowd

A record crowd of over 6,000 fans at the fifth annual Night of Fire at Iowa’s Cedar Falls Raceway saw a record eleven AA Funny Car teams try to make the elite field for the Mickey Thompson Tires DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC Challenge presented by Comp Cams.

When qualifying was done late Friday night, July 19th, former Pro Stock racer Brian Stewart and his tuner Jim Stanke put his “Bear Town Shaker” Mustang on the pole for the second straight DRO race. Unfortunately, also for the second straight race Stewart couldn’t convert his qualifying effort into a win.
