Two wheel Nostalgia was also represented with Keith Lee putting together a suite of bikes to contest the NSA Shootout. For many this was their only appearance of the year and under the warm conditions both riders and machinery were under some degree of stress. From this it would be Martin Wilmott that would emerge victorious onboard his blown 500cc Triumph.

Phil Evans (British Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductee in 2006) spends probably more time than he would like in committee meetings whilst at drag strips thanks to his FIA Drag Racing Commission role, but for the 2013 edition of Dragstalgia he pulled the Singer Vogue he drove in the Production category back in the late 70s and early 80s out of the barn. “Changing the oil in it probably doubled the value,” commented Phil “I really enjoyed myself at Dragstalgia, it was such fun to drive Super Vogue again after all these years. I met so many people that I used to race against (Simon Paul, Dave Mingay, Sam Connell,Paul Martinek etc) and it was amazing how many people recognised the car from when they were spectating in the 70’s. I could really take to this drag racing lark!”

Sparkling in the sun behind the grandstands was the Ford powered Commuter rail that Tony Densham drove with considerable distinction from 1966 through to 1970 (setting the British Land Speed Record along the way). The Commuter had it’s roots in the Harvey Aluminium Special that Mickey Thompson brought over to the UK in 1963 before it was transformed into the Golden Hind and subsequently Commuter.
