More than 4,000 fans of nitro-burning racecars showed up at the iconic Famoso Raceway on Saturday, July 13, and were treated to a great evening of entertainment featuring AA/FC cars plus Nostalgia Nitro dragsters, jet cars and a variety of other cars and classes.

The headline show was round two of the six-race Bakersfield Boise Blitz series which is three AA/FC races each at the tracks in Bakersfield, Calif., and Boise, Idaho, with the eight top points earners for the six events having a race during the qualifying at Bakersfield’s annual March Meet in 2014.

Thirteen AA/FC’s made qualifying laps to determine the quick eight cars. This series is unique in that points are all awarded based on attendance and qualifying and the winner of the race gets no points only the prize money.

With the emphasis on qualifying, some astounding numbers from some unexpected racers were seen.
