Dave Norris (near lane) of Bryans Road, Md., a regular player in the MIRock Superbike Series co-hosted by Rockingham and Maryland International Raceway, was the upset winner in Pro Extreme Motorcycle where he got past world champion Eric McKinney of Hammersville, Ohio, for a $20,000 victory.

Finally, after being upset in the Pro Nitrous class in which he was the No. 1 seed, Stevie Jackson of Martinez, Ga., rallied to win the $20,000 top prize in Pro Drag Radial.

Rickie Smith, runner-up last week at the NHRA’s Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis, Ind., hadn’t won a major race on his home track since 1988. He ended that drought in a final round pedal-fest after both cars lost traction.
