Vickers’ “Terminator.”

Johnny Vickers of Hawaya Racing is always a class act. His new tuxedo inspired racing leathers by Vanson Leathers are just as cool as his new bike. Note the bulletproof chest protector built into the leather suit.

Johnny’s low qualifier pass was a 7.22 just ahead of Rocky Jackson’s 7.27, but the Terminator lived up to its name by delivering a 7.19 in round one, a 7.13 in round two, and a stunning 7.09 in the finals for a new world record for P/F bikes. The incremental numbers for the record run were: 60’ 1.162, 330’ 2.912, 1/8 4.435 at 156.25 mph, 1000’ 5.845, 1/4 7.097 at 184.52 mph. Clearly, someone needs to open up a Six Second Club for Pro Fuel bikes very soon.

In Orient Express Pro Street racing, 26 Pro Street bikes showed up for the World Finals, with Joey Gladstone topping them all by posting a fine 6.90 at 213.13 mph set of numbers as low qualifier and top speed of the meet. On race day when it counts most, Joey went out in round two in the closest side-by-side Pro Street race in MANCUP event history. Joey’s 6.89 elapsed time was not enough to hold off Bud Yoder’s quicker 6.86 elapsed time.
