This Willys was on display in the ring of gassers that was near the entrance of the event; patina seems to prove it was the real deal but we did not get a chance to talk to the owners. Regardless, cool stuff here is not always straight from Detroit.

Clark and Colleen Rand showed up with several unique cars, one of the most significant being the rarely heard-of Super Cheetah funny car, seen here on its own ‘cheetah skin rug.’ During the course of its restoration, Clark was able to find and buy a real Chevrolet Cam-Am engine for this project. The car is originally believed to have run out of Arizona.

We thought this car of the Rands was also interesting; this is a 1966 Astra fiberglass replica that raced in the Midwest with an early Hemi under the flip-up nose. Unrestored, the car was in amazingly nice condition.
