Goodyear Racing’s Open Comp class came down to a battle of pickup trucks as Ken Spears’ big block ’54 Chevy took on Theodore Logan’s 635 ci 2002 S-10 Chevy truck. Logan left the line at a disadvantage with a .103 light to Spears’ .060 and at the strip Logan broke out by .002 with a 9.558 on his 9.56 dial to Spears’ winning 9.600 on his 9.55 dial.


In the Ross Racing Pistons Triple Index class, the final was between two 10.60 index cars, Charlie Jorgensen of Wildomar, CA, and Joe Bennett of Camp Verde, AZ. The race ended on the starting line as Bennett red lighted allowing Jorgensen (far lane) to cruise to the win light.


The Edelbrock Super Index class is known for its fast cars and close racing. The final round had a representative of the 9.60 and 8.60 index group pairing off as Nick Kendrick of Lake Havasu City, AZ, lined up his El Camino against Jaclyn Generalao. Kendrick cut a slightly better light, .009 to Generalao’s .015 and on the top end Kendrick’s 9.621 on the 9.60 index held up the starting line advantage to Generalao’s 8.622 on the 8.60 index.
