Ross Racing Piston’s Outlaw 8.5 class saw great head’s up eighth-mile racing all weekend long. In the final round, Chad McGee of South Gate, CA, ran 5.624 to runner up against Casey Van Tol (near lane) of Orland, CA, who made a wicked fast 5.406 pass to take the win.


AOS Unlimited Hot Street was a battle of first generation GM pony cars as Joe Koorgikian of Hollywood, CA, in his 1969 Trans Am got the win over Gypsy Mike from Downey, CA, in his ’68 Camaro. Joe ran 8.505 at 158.91 mph to take the victory from Mike who ran 8.601.


The hotly contested Mickey Thompson Wild Street class saw a new record during qualifying and a class final that was a dual between point leaders as Armen Maghdessian of Westminster in his flamed ’57 Chevy ran a 4.962 to Mike Orban’s 5.979 in his ’68 Camaro. The win let Armen leave Vegas with a scant five-point lead over Mike in the class championship chase. But Orban set and backed up a scorching 4.875 ET to earn #1 qualifier and the record.
