WCHRA at Las Vegas

Sin City Showdown

The West Coast Hot Rod Association rolled into The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 3rd for their first ever event at the world class facility. The WCHRA is now in its eighth season.

This event would be double points for all nine WCHRA Classes, four heads up classes (True 10.5, 275 vs 28s, Outlaw 8.5 and Limited 10.5) and five Bracket/Index Classes (Top Comp, Top Doorslammer, Open Comp, Sportsman, and Super .60/Triple Index) as well as the Las Vegas SUMMIT Bracket Series.

With a busy schedule of classes, the event being a one day affair, and temps forecasted for mid to high 90’s, the racers and crews would be challenged for sure. Qualifying was scheduled to begin at 11a.m. and continue during the hottest part of the day with eliminations scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and run through the evening.

TRUE 10.5

Mickey Thompson Tires and CDS Component Drive Systems sponsor the quickest and fastest of the “Small Tire” Heads-Up classes in the WCHRA and two of the quickest racers in the WCHRA, Johnny Coleman and Roger Holder, battled for the Dustin Lee Racing Engines  #1 Qualifier Bonus.
