Sanders set Top Speed of the meet with a 6.083/248.84 to Bowen’s slowing 6.180/195.99.

The win stopped Bowen’s three-race winning streak on the 2014 DRO circuit. Because the World Series event offers bonus championship points, the win vaulted the Sanders team to second in DRO Championship points despite only racing at three of the events this season.

The next event for the Hedman Husler Hedders DRO AA/FC Challenge racers is the annual Funny Car Nationals at U.S. 131 Dragway in Martin, Mich. on Sept. 5-6.

The World Series of Drag Racing offers fans plenty of variety. Here’s a look at some of the entertainment.
