Bartone clinches AA/FD championship

The NHRA Motorsports Museum New England Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA Insurance concluded on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Before eliminations began, the legendary Cacklefest kicked off the day. Dozens of classic cars including front engine dragsters, Funny Cars, and classic nitro burning machines came to life down the length of the track.

Following the Cacklefest all eyes turned to the track and the nostalgic quarter-mile drag racing.

For the fourth time in as many events, an undefeated Tony Bartone helmed the “Bartone Bros.” AA/Fuel Dragster to yet another win in Top Fuel Eliminator. And for the fourth consecutive race this year the New York-based Bartone also set both Low ET and Top Speed of the Meet.

His command of the class has been so thorough that with one race still left on the NHRA Heritage Series schedule, Bartone has already claimed the 2014 Points Title.
