In X632, the second of the heads up classes competing, cars consistently ran in the mid 4's throughout all the rounds of competition. Jeff Ensslin from Lakeland, Fla. was the top of the class taking home the top speed, low E.T., and top qualifying spot. Ensslin faced off against Rolando Mair from Miami, Fla. in the Final Round. Once the tree turned green Ensslin had a reaction time of .094 seconds to Mair's .230 second jump. At the top end the Ensslin took the win light after running a 4.459 second, 159.19 and defeating Mair.

Final: Jeff Ensslin, 4.459 seconds, 159.19 mph def. Rolando Mair, 4.554 seconds, 156.61 mph.

Street DOT Tires

The DOT Tires Street class had all three of the major American manufacturers represented. Larry Doty of Margate, Fla., drove his 1983 Mercury Cougar to the top qualifying position. Doty continued battling into the finals, even facing off and defeating his son Ethan Doty in the Semi Final Round. Doty went up against the 1996 Chevy Corvette of Richard Mortell from Lake Worth, Fla. Doty dialed in at 14.26 seconds to that of Mortell at 13.05 seconds. Both drivers had comparable reaction times off the tree but it was Mortell who took home victory.

Final: Richard Mortell (13.05), 13.031 seconds, 107.28 mph def. Larry Doty (14.26), 14.230 seconds, 94.04 mph.

 

 

 

 

Street Bike: Carl Mitchell from Miami Garden, Fla. took home the victory in Street Bike on his 2012 Yamaha R6. Mitchell put on a nice display for the fans making several passes throughout the day. On his final pass he dialed in at 11.17 seconds to run 11.404 seconds at 123.93 mph.
