Nick Poloson

Ken Singleton's "High Risk" was out next set to take on Shreveport winner Nick Poloson and this one was decided on the starting line as Singleton's .074 reaction time and 4.05 at 176 mph was enough to hold off Poloson's quicker but loosing 4.00 at 153 mph. Mark Bowman's "Blown Income" and Mary Reep's "Grim Reeper" rolled to the staging beams next in a heavy hitting blown alcohol pairing. Bowman was off the line first and his 4.11 at 176 mph held off Reep's close 4.12 at 178 mph. At this point, it was Billington's 3.95 and Smith's 3.992 holding tickets to the final round as the two quickest winners, but one pair remained in the water box.

Jimmy Jones, 2015 OFAA Champion.

John Broussard and Jimmy Jones were set to do battle as Broussard looked to put the Champ on the trailer early and end the season with a final round appearance. Off the line Jones was .049 on the tree to Broussard's .060, but Jones blew the tires off shortly after leaving the line and Broussard blasted to a 3.998 at 181 mph to take the win light. His 3.998 was .006 of a second slower than Smith's 3.992 as Smith and Billington were final round bound.

Back in the pits, the "Magic Dragon" team led by Raymond and Jody Austin noticed a trail of oil under the car and upon further inspection the number three connecting rod had exited the block of the Billington driven machine. OFAA officials were notified and the first alternate, John Broussard, was inserted into the final to take on Doyle Smith in the last dance of the year.
