Semifinals

The semi's began with Chris Gulitti's classic flamed '68 Camaro matching up with Eddie Roach in the low-slung split window Vette. Roach pulled a slight .02 edge at the green but 4.52 at 143.82 would not have enough to cover Gulitti, who ran 4.30 at 166.11 for the win.

Bengt Blomberg

The final pair of the semi's had Bengt Blomberg and Chris Domino leave the line dead even. Blomberg gradually pulled away and got the win light posting 4.35 at 167.29 to a game but losing 4.40 at 165.56 for Domino.

Finals

The finals matched up two of the more consistent and potentially equal runners of the event. Gulitti again, as he had all through eliminations, chose the left lane for the final. After strong burnouts from both competitors they lined up for battle. The flash of green lit up the line in that left lane and in the right lane Blomberg left the line with a red bulb glowing for a foul start while running his best pass of the day at 4.26 at 172.15 in vain. Gulitti was there for the taking as he suffered traction wows and coasted through at 5.53 at 88.24 mph for the win.

The victory was the first Texas Automatic Outlaws Pro Mod Association win for Chris Gulitti and crew and placed them in fourth place in the series standings. Eddie Roach took the points lead with his semifinal finish.

The series will be taking June and July off and the next race for the Texas Automatic Outlaws Pro Mod Association will be Saturday, Aug. 22, at Thunder Road Raceway Park in Shreveport, Louisiana.
