FIA/MSA Pro Modified
The trophy round in Pro Mod boiled down to an all-Nordic affair with Sweden's Mats Eriksson and Finland's Tero Laukkanen facing each other. Eriksson (ably assisted by Adam Flamholc) took the event win after qualifying in second spot with a 5.9564/244.06 (behind Micke Gullqvist's 5.8823/245.53) and running through the lower half of the ladder with a consistent string of 5.9s and 6.0s from the ME Racing Crown Victoria before lighting the final win light with a 5.9948/230.39mph pass after Laukkanen broke after the burnout.
FIA Pro Stock Car
Jimmy Ålund was in dominant form in FIA Pro Stock, demolishing the European record with a 6.4990 in the first round of eliminations (the Swede running five of the quickest passes in Europe over the course of the weekend and the 6.4 came with a suspect 215.00mph TS that Ålund was far from convinced by – the incrementals for the ET made far more sense), a 6.5009/213.08 in the semis before defeating compatriot Thomas Lindström in the final with a 6.5156/212.99. "KB Racing have built me a heck of a engine that I named "The Punisher" and this race it really lived up to it's name!"
Runner-up Lindström and the Ernryd Cars Mopar team might not feel like it, but they had a pretty decent weekend picking up their PB numbers (6.5627/209.14) in the semis after qualifying in second spot with a 6.6083/208.18 and defeating Simon Gustafsson in the opening round with a 6.5799, but that pesky Camaro keeps on pushing the boundaries.
