Niclas Andersson   Roger Johansson

Micke Gullqvist   Tero Laukkanen

Mattias Wulcan

We usually expect a really tight and quick Pro Mod field at the all concrete Tierp quarter mile, but the loss of a qualifying session and the aforementioned tricky track conditions (plus some wall bangers with Marko Lantto's being a mild tap compared to the absolute thump that Mattias Wulcan bounced back from, landing the Swede in hospital with more than a few broken ribs and a punctured lung) had the bump set in the eight second range.

At the sharp end Niclas Andersson produced a 5.9859 to qualify low (a second shot saw shake kick in off the line which fortunately put him out of the line of fire as Wulcan came over into his lane) from the Old Fifty One Chevy and Roger Johansson dropped into second spot with a 5.9996 from the Mölndal Speed Shop nitrous Mustang. In the only eliminations round, Andersson improved to a new PB with a 5.9336, whilst Johansson progressed thanks to a red light from the now turbo equipped Freddy Fagerstrom. Tero Laukkanen's seriously quick turboed Mustang delivered a 5.9938 to progress, but the performance honours went to Micke Gullqvist and the Pampas Marina Camaro with a sub European record 5.8444 to defeat David Vegter. The quick quartet were due to have been joined in the quarters by Anders Nilsson, Robert Joosten, current points leader Mats Eriksson and Bruno Bader but the damp stuff curtailed the fun and games.
