Topspeed Automotive Street Eliminator

The (seriously) quick Street Eliminator bracket took a bit of time to kick into the big numbers, with eventual winner and class record holder Mark Todd producing a low ET of 7.5502/192.14 from his GTO in the final to defeat Stuart Williams's stout 7.6817/180.63. The event nearly had an unhappy ending for Todd as somehow an eruption of fluid from the trans fluid cooler (seen at its inception in the accompanying photo) led only to a lengthy clean-up operation rather than the seemingly inevitable turn into the barrier as the plume got larger and larger down track.

Comp Eliminator went to Robin Orthodoxou's Chaos Bros low 7-second big block A/A entry in a less worse red light than opponent Kev Perkins, whilst Simon Gough notched up a stout victory in the Super Pro ranks with an RT and ET from his mid-8-second late model Camaro that forced opponent Rene Ehrismann into a breakout.
