Man O’ War team dominates as Cavalieri tunes car to five straight laps in 5.80’s

It’s not an exaggeration to say that winning at the annual World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova International Raceway is as important to Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car and Top Fuel racers in the Midwest as winning one of the Bakersfield, Calif., races is for West Coast teams.

Like any of the iconic races in the sport of drag racing such as the March Meet, U.S. Nationals, or The Million, winning one of those races is a career achievement for drivers, crew, and sponsors. This year’s World Series of Drag Racing (the 62nd!) was especially historic for the nitro racers as for the first time in the history of the event Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars were a single class and raced each other in the Hedman Husler Hedders DragRacingOnline.com Nostalgia Nitro Challenge.
