In the event decider Kågered would lose to Halinen who had overcome Stefan Gunnarsson at the semifinals stage, with Jari taking his first FIA event win despite failing to qualify for the eight-car field and only racing in eliminations thanks to the withdrawal of Patrik Pers as a result of engine damage, with both cars suffering motor woes before Halinen rolled over the finish line ahead of Kågered. “A crazy day” grinned Halinen having come from outhouse to penthouse and resetting both ends of his best marks for the SISU/RFM team.
