This pairing had Robinson a heavy favourite as he had progressed through eliminations with a series of 6.1 second runs (including a best of 6.1303/233.69 mph to defeat Jean Dulamon at the final four stage) whilst Moore was clearly nursing a clearly ailing motor in getting past Chris Isaacs and Slyfield. With this in mind, Moore took a shot at the tree and missed, the red light handing Robinson the final event win of the year on a 6.1507/230.19 mph victory lap.
