After taking the win in the NMCA WEST season opener, Johnny Coleman fell short in the second race of the year during Mickey Thompson True Ten 5 competition. Coleman was back on point at the 4th Annual Energy Suspension NMCA WEST Street Car Nationals, using a 5.12 at 140 mph to drive past Lonnie Patrick’s 6.56 at 111 effort en route to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle.

ProCharger Street Outlaw saw Ryan “Toaster” Jones dominate qualifying with a 4.98, and he would go on to claim low ET (4.86) and the top mph (155.02) for the weekend. In the final round, Jones lined up his ’65 Chevy Nova next to Armen Maghdessian’s ’57 Chevy. The shoebox claimed a very slight reaction-time advantage, but it along with the 5.25 at 146.72 that it clocked, wasn’t enough to hold off Toaster’s 5.21 at 146 effort.
