Nostalgia Eliminator 2 featured a quality field of 11 racers that included Cecil Molina the winner of the last NE2 race held in Arizona three years ago at Speed World. On this day however the competition was confusing as Molina faced Gary Ryan in the semi-finals. Both cars broke out of their index with Gary clocking an 8.58 to Cecil’s 8.57. Wow! And the semi run turned into the final when opponent J. Crider broke and could not answer the call.

Nostalgia Eliminator 3 was an all-California affair as Lindsey Lister (near lane) of San Pedro won the title over the ’62 Corvette of Ed DeStaute from Rosemead. Wes Anderson drove his ’27 Roadster to #1 qualifier at 9.608 seconds.

Twice a year at Bakersfield, more than 30 A/Gassers assemble since Nostalgia racing picked up a full head of steam. And here in the ‘Valley of the Sun’, fourteen of the group made the trek hoping to be the first Champ of 2016. The racing was once again tremendous.
