Last year's winning car "The LA Hooker" Plymouth Arrow (then driven by Tommy Johnson Junior) was back this time peddled by Anthony Begley who won two of his three races on the night. This saw the Westralian take out Daniel Schultz in the "The General" Dodge Charger in the first round with a 5.922 to 6.051 pairing. His success continued in his second match with Nathan Periano's "Time Traveller" Chevy Vega - there a better reacting 5.693 more than covered a 6.327. In the last match of the night however the Perth driver stumbled and his slower reacting 5.867 was ably handled by overall winner Rick Gauci and a 5.662.

"The General" Dodge Charger of the Schultz family was in great form at the "Triple Challenge" event with driver, Daniel Schultz taking two from three wins. His account opened with a loss to "The LA Hooker" Plymouth Arrow of Anthony Begley where, despite a better light, his 6.051/237 fell to the Perth driver's superior 5.922. Round two saw "The General" improve to 5.961 to outclass the "Storm Trooper" Mustang of Greg Leahy while a round three solo saw the young Sydney driver run his best numbers of the night - a 5.871/244.03.

The "Dark Horse" Mach 1 Mustang driven by banana bender, Paul Messineo saw mixed success on the night with the two wins and a loss. He opened his account with a win over the later model Mustang of Greg Leahy - 6.008 doing it to a 6.202. Next time around he faced the "Fast Company" Arrow of Kiwi Willy White and dispatched the Enzedder home with a 5.920 to 6.996 thrashing. Lastly Messineo was to stumble against eventual third place finisher, Justin Walshe. This saw an all Mustang duel and Walshe won the race on the start-line as his .126 light had Messineo's sleepy .256 well covered and at the other end Walshe's 5.832/242.02 was just enough to cover a 5.750 at a faster 251.11 mph.
