It was quite a weekend for Kevin Kent and the West Ten Funny Car team with John “Bodie” Smith calling the shots. Not only did they win two events in one, taking the rained off Easter final over Gordon Smith (with a 4.2799/285.71, the quickest and fastest pass from an AA/FC in the 1000-foot era) during qualifying before defeating Patrik Pers with a 4.343/278.49 at the culmination of the Main Event.
