FIA Pro Stock

Jimmy Alund

Bengt Ljungdahl

After a couple of years away from the German track, FIA Pro Stock rejoined the NitrOlymp’X festivities with six cars making the call. As has been the case for the season so far, it was the blue Camaros of Jimmy Ålund and Bengt Ljungdahl that dominated affairs, trading qualifying points before Ålund’s Exclusive Cars/Summit Racing entry ended up on top of the heap with a 6.602 and Ljungdahl in at two with a 6.645. Eliminations saw the pair make their way through to the final, both consistently in the 6.5s (all below the track record at the start of the event), with Ljundahl gaining low ET bragging rights with a 6.527 in the opening round of eliminations from his ex-Gray Motorsports entry and Ålund picking up top speed at 212.12mph on a semifinal bye.

The head to head for the event trophy had Ljundahl out pacing Ålund with a 6.570/206.16 but Jimmy lighting the winlight thanks to a holeshot coupled with a 6.575/211.22.

“I’m having to think about how to win this year,” commented Ålund but the points lead is starting to extend out with two events remaining in his quest for a tenth FIA Pro Stock title.
