Wentzville, Mo.: This writer is worried that the St. Louis metro area may go from six drag strips to 0, if Gateway Int. closes in 2011, much the same as Mid America.  After living through this phenomenon in California during the ‘80s, it IS a major concern for mid-west racers.

And NOW, a current event in Henderson, Nevada

Henderson, Nev.  September 25, 2010: Super Run on Water Street, featuring nearly 1.000 cars and drawing over 100,000 fans. Festivities included a real drag strip in down town by the civic center.  Two ‘burn out’ contests were held Friday & Saturday.  Scott Palmer of Henderson won both with his Pro Bracket Pinto using 302” FORD power & 205/50/15 KUMHO ECSTA SPT RED SMOKE  DRIFT TIRES.
