QUESTION 1:
G'day Mike, my name is Brett with ASNU Transmission Products in Brisbane, Australia. We are one of Australia's leading Torque Converter rebuilders. We are trying to find GM 245mm converter stators with the markings of (082). Also, you may have parts for Generation 3 5.7 liter engines that use a 4L60-E transmission. We are after Turbine hubs, clutch assemblies to suit GM 245mm converters. If you are unable to supply any parts, are you able to advise us of any other suppliers?
Thanks again,
Brett Walker
Brett,
For 20 years we have used Continental
Torque Converters for our torque converter needs.
You might contact Kris at Continental about
these parts. He could possibly help you @ (310)

Thanks,
Mike
QUESTION 2:
Mike,
I just put a freshly rebuilt 350 turbo on my 69 c/10's 383 stroker. I don't
know what I did wrong, but my engine is revving
way higher than it should be to move. It does
move, but the tranny that I replaced was a 350
turbo and it was way more responsive to the
pedal. I would have to hold my foot on the brakes
at a stoplight to keep it from going. This one
takes forever to build up speed. Something is
definitely wrong. The only thing I did not do
was hook up the little cable on the front passenger
side that goes to either the heater controls
or maybe the carburetor, but that cable was
just hanging on the last one and it worked!
I may have over filled the fluid as well, would
that cause this to happen? There are the only
two things I can think it could be. Anyway,
don't worry, I am not driving the truck, it

just sitting until I can figure out how to fix
the thing. Any help or guidance would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks again,
Dennis
Dennis,
It sounds like the trans is
slipping. You might think about running a trans
pressure test on this unit. You will need a
200 PSI gauge hooked to the 1/8 pipe tap at
the right rear of your 350 case. If you don't
already have one, you should get a TH350 repair
manual. This will give you your pressures. The
passing gear cable does only that, passing gear.
You may have a pump problem or possibly some
kind of pressure leak.
Thanks,
Mike
