Mike,

I recently had my Turbo350 converted from full reverse manual to a trans brake with reverse manual and have had some annoying side effects ever since. First, it seems to be a lot softer going from 1st to2nd gear. Secondly, I had to lower my shift point to second gear from 6500 to 6400 because I kept hitting the 7200 chip during the shift. And lastly, it pushes a small amount out fluid out the breather after about 4 or 5 passes. My tranny guy tells me it's the nature of the beast and to learn to live with it. I say the valve body is junk. What do you think?

Jim,

In regards to your TH 350 valve body swap, it is always a good idea to check line pressure when changing parts such as these.  From your description if sounds to me like the transmission is sluggish on the shifts.  The pushing of fluid out of the breather could be a result of hot fluid caused by slippage.  All these things can be a result of low line pressure.

Thank you for your questions,

Mike
