LAST MONTH'S WINNER

After much deliberation, the winner is Bret Kepner! (After all, he is in the photo.)

"DRO Editor, Jeff Burk, caught this moment between legendary promoter Bob Bartel (left) and announcer Bret Kepner at Cordova's 50th Annual World Series of Drag Racing. Bartel, a witness to drag racing's evolution from its earliest events to modern day 300 mph performances, debuted the results of his radical new plastic surgery and skin graft program to the approval of the track's largest crowd ever. During the interview, Bartel intimated he'd been rejuvenated by the medical operation and was looking forward to 'a new life filled with vindication.' Only one week later, Bartel was implicated in a crime spree covering four states, leading to an All Points Bulletin requesting the immediate apprehension of the suspect based on the original DRO photograph. Less than twenty-four hours later, police SWAT officers raided the home of an individual matching that appearance and description in the sleepy town of Union Grove, Wisconsin.
