: So when the 24 hours were up you were still there?

MS: Yes, standing there in the stall with the cup in my hand.

: So then to be perfectly clear, you didn’t fail the screening due to substances in your system, they failed you for not being able to provide them with what they felt was an adequate sample to test?

MS: Yes, that’s right.

: Are you plotting a course of action on what you want to do?

MS:  I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to drag their name (NHRA) around, or have everybody bashing NHRA. You know, we are both really to blame on this deal, and maybe not even as much them (NHRA) as it is the testing company.

: So you can go to the races, you can have the car there, you can service your clients, you just can’t drive, correct?

MS: Right. Somebody else can drive and I can tune. I just can’t drive.

: Have you thought about putting somebody else in the car? Just off the top of my head, Brett Harris (Nostalgia Top Fuel Champion) is just down the street. It would be cool to have a new face out there.

MS: Yes, it would be. We would definitely entertain other options. But just to put somebody in the car... They would need to bring something to the table to make it worthwhile.

:  There is a great deal of fan and racer support out there for you. Has PRO stepped up and said or done anything yet?

MS: Yes, it’s on the docket for next month’s board meeting. They really do care what happens to me, and they want to make sure it doesn’t happen to anybody else, which is their stand on it.

:  You are a member of PRO aren’t you?

MS:   Not this year….

:   From the sounds of it, I think it would be safe to say you wish you could have handled it differently, but it is what it is. Thank you for taking the time to talk with DRO and good luck. Let us know what you plan to do, when you get to that point.

MS: Thank you for taking the time.
