Everyone has been waiting for Erica Enders to get a win in the Pro Stock class, and going into the U.S. Nationals, it seemed that the time was at hand. There was no storybook ending, however. Enders got past Kurt Johnson in the first round only to be eliminated in the second round by eventual runner-up Jason Line.

Amanda Matusek was keeping a blog of her own Indy racing experience for us and we asked the budding journalist to have a chat with Ms. Enders.

:  For those of us that don’t know the details of your racing career, when did you start? How did you get into it?

Erica Enders: I started in 1992 in Junior Dragsters and I was 8 at the time. I grew up watching my dad race, so I always knew I wanted to race.

: How did you move from Juniors to Pro Stock?

EE: There were many steps in between. I ran in Super Comp, Super Gas, Top Dragster, and licensed in Alcohol Funny Car. I got called to drive Pro Stock for Beck in 2004. It was a big learning curve.
