Just Wondering... What is the reason why no vintage Funny Cars are invited/allowed to cackle at the Bakersfield CHRR? To me, not having them disrespects all of the racers that built and raced those cars starting in the mid-sixties. Maybe the 25th anniversary CHRR would be a good point for those in charge to start allowing vintage Fuel Coupes to cackle with the Top Fuel cars.

Just Wondering... How important is the first race of the NHRA season in regards to making the year-end Countdown? Of the Top Fuel drivers that made up the top 10 championship points list after the Winternationals only two, Spencer Massey and Leah Pritchett, didn’t ultimately make the Countdown. Only seven Funny Car drivers in the top 10 eventually made the Countdown with Bob Bode, John Hale and Courtney Force missing. And finally in Pro Stock all but Roger Brogdon made the Countdown top 10 list at the U.S. Nationals.

Just Wondering... I keep hearing from good sources that there will probably be just one JEGS SPORTSnationals event in 2016 instead of the three held in 2015. That’s great news except the same source says that they don’t want to include TAFC and TAD cars in the lineup. How can any true NHRA “Sportsnationals” not include Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car? I understand that the NHRA management has an issue because some alky class racers might not be able to make the race because of points issues. Does that make any sense?

Just Wondering... Will John Force Racing announce that Austin Coil has returned to the nitro wars as a special assistant to the crew chiefs? I’m setting the odds a 9-1 that Coil will be back on the Force team as some form of consultant to the tuners for the 2016 NHRA season.

Just Wondering.... Has any professional drag race driver ever been as dominant as Erica Enders has for the past 23 months? Maybe only Bob Glidden or Don Prudhomme in their prime. In my opinion, no one has ever been as good delivering consistently superior reaction times than Enders has the past two years. I’ve never seen a driver be as good as she has been during her two-year run.

Just Wondering... I’ve asked this question before but are NHRA Pro Stock teams going to be ready to debut the new rule cars at the Pomona Winternationals held just 10 weeks after the upcoming NHRA World Finals on November 13-16? According to an NHRA press release issued last week only two Pro Stock teams have tested EFI engines: V Gaines and the Gray family! In that same release NHRA admitted that they had not yet developed specs for the flat hood air box, final location of the throttle body or any other finite specs for the car.

Just Wondering... Will Tony Pedregon put a driver in his Nitro Funny Car when he leaves for the NHRA FOX TV announce booth? Will brother Cruz buy him out and field a two-car Snap-on Tool Funny Car team?

Just Wondering... Will the NHRA Board of Directors have the stones to vote most if not all of its members a raise for the 2016 season? If the money is there, they will!
