After the first NHRA show on Fox Sports 1

We asked you to watch the FS1 coverage of the NHRA Winternationals and let us know what you thought. Here are your letters in the order they were received.

Review of the TV broadcast for the NHRA/FOX Sports from a diehard fan.

I thought the show all in all was good. It does need work. It seemed slow but it was hurried.

What happened to the burnouts and talking during them to give us some technical information on what they are doing while they are backing up or some background information about the two cars.

During qualifying I'm losing where the teams are standing in the ladder. Say cars run and number seven in Q1 goes to 4 and number 3 drops to 5 in the positions. Well after the run have an animated ladder and show the fans were these drivers teams have positioned themselves on the ladder. Make it exciting to get to anyone of the particular potions. "Oh he got knocked out of 3 and has moved to 5." Bob Frey, "Say Hello to your new number one qualifier!" Use a graphic to show the times and speed with ET of the new or current positions of the driver as they update the ladder after each run.

The qualifying show was too hurried, run after run after run. It was like watching the sportsman ranks, one after another.

I loved the idea of showing non-NHRA people the differences of a daily driver and a Top Fuel Funny Car. Show it with a camera from where the fan would sit, so you can see the track and the space between the stock Camry and that of Del's car making his move on him. Do a Bracket race and have the Camry handicap start and show them how Del’s car can gun the stock car down. Alan Reinhart would say something like, "Now watch how far the stock Camry will go waaaaaay out in front of Del's Funny Car. Now do you think he can catch him?" "You're saying to yourselves there is NO WAY he can catch him." The excitement of Del's catch doing it and showing how he closes up on that stock car and catches him at the lights. Awesome. I love this in bracket racing and it shows the speed of the faster car so much more when you can see the distance between both cars and then it tightens up.

Try cameras on drones and have them fly over the track and the grandstands and then into the pits where all the people are in between the races.

I heard so much about all the opening graphics and they were pretty cool. Get more of that. Make more.

What about running a camera that travels half way down the race track with the cars. So it starts at the 60-foot timers and when it goes green, the camera starts moving down track with its focus on the cars coming up and catching the camera. The camera rotates as the cars over take the moving camera and follows the cars going down the track. This camera can be closer to the cars because it's on the guard wall. This would make for an awesome perspective of the cars going by.

Thank you,
Timothy Rogers
